Caricature of Adam Scott (Ben) on Parks and Rec. The painterly background is inspired by Jason Seiler's caricatures.
Acrylic & colored pencil on illustration board.
My interpretation of Lyra from The Golden Compass. The books in the series by Philip Pullman were my favorite growing up. This illustration was displayed at Rivet Gallery in the Short North, Columbus as a part of CCAD's annual Art of Illustration (AOI) show in 2012.
Oil, acrylic, and colored pencil on illustration board.
Master copies. The left is a Leyendecker and the right is a John Singer Sargent head study. Both are done in acrylic.
Black and white acrylic painting of a human-animal transformation. I used my little sister as reference for this one and paired her up with a Cecropia moth.
A painting from my Biotechnology Inspires Art class last year. This was displayed in a gallery as part of an exhibition dedicated to the class. There's a lot of research that went into this painting. If you want to read the artist statement, you can do so here
3-session oil painting on canvas (one of the first oil paintings I've done in 3 years!)
3-session oil painting on canvas. Reclining poses are hard!
2-hour landscape study in oils. Not for a class... just for my own personal sanity and to keep up the skills!
